If it were to happen, what 5 events would end the world. I have the following:

1. Civil upheaval across the USA and UK causing economy to crash

2. Iran, Syria and Egypt use this upheaval to attack Israel. After short war, Iraq invades Iran. Iran threatens nuclear revenge

3. Mass unrest in China, economy slides back to post 1980 numbers. Energy reserves drop and water supply dangerously low. China invades Northern Russia, Russians retaliate. Nuclear bombs armed

4. North Koreans starving, have no choice but to invade South Korea. Nuclear bombs armed.

5. North Korea launches at U.S. for supporting S. Korea

Coronal Mass Ejection from the sun that delivers a massive EMP to the planet, fries all power transmission facilities, electronics, etc.

No transportation until everything is fixed in 10 years, except there is limited manufacturing capability without power.

No food delivery to cities.

Mass starvation and unrest.

Population decreases by 6 billion people.

Pure scientific interest, my dear, nothing more. That's the cornerstone of progress isn't it?

There are many more exciting subjects they can start looking into:

- Is there a way to modify cancer cells so that the disease can be transferred through coughing?
- How can HIV be modified so as to allow for it to develop into a full-blown AIDS in a patient in a course of just one day?
- Is there a way to modify a common flu virus, so that it makes the subject's head explode when he sneezes?
- How can we turn Zorro's obsession with nipples into an infection transferred by way of posting total gibberish in Inglis using capital letters?
