Hi, I will be travelling to Toronto and have booked a return flight - duration of stay 1 week. I have not booked a hotel as yet as I hope to stay in Toronto for 1/2 nights and then stay in surrounding areas. I am also hopefully going to meet an aquaintance for the first time whilst in Toronto (maybe share a room in a hotel) and then travel to the Cambridge area where the aquaintance lives before returning to Toronto . The person is a Ukrainian legally working and living in Canada. It is a vacation for me and a chance to meet someone I have spoken to on a regular basis for 6 months and would like to see. what I wanted to know is will this itinary cause me any problems with border/passport control at the airport ( Pearson Int ) ? I reside in the UK and have UK passport and a dated return ticket back to the Uk. Thanks for reading, any advice/suggestions appreciated ?

Cambridge is 45 minutes west of Toronto and won't require any passport unless you're taling about Cambridge University in the Boston area? Then yes, you better clear that before leaving. Still, should not be a great headache. Have fun!!

Harvard and M.I.T. are in the Cambridge MA area. Cambridge University is in England...sort of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge's domain

Thanks for the replies . No, it is Cambridge Ontario where my friend lives and works . I just thought maybe I would have a problem at passport control/immigration at the airport if I say I am travelling for a vacation but also to meet a foreign national I have not met before in canada or am I worrying too much ? :) .

i doubt if it's needed to tell immigration officer about your intention to meet someone. and i doubt this information can change anything.
