This is a specific problem, I would like to know if anyone has tried this. I plan to visit Ukraine (and later, probably Russia too).
Is it possible to do this: I go to Ukraine, spend some time there. Then, if I decide to go to neighbouring Russia, I order visa support online, I receive the copy by email (or the original by DHL, UPS in my hotel) and I go to a Russian consulate based in one of the Ukrainian cities that I will visit and I get the visa there.
Though it is generaly claimed that you must apply for a visa in the country you live in, I was reading the websites of the russian consulates, they do mention this possibility. I don't know if it's working in reality.
