I was just thinking that radical Islam should build a monument to our
President, somewhere over there in Ragheadistan.
He's done more to destroy this country than Osama bin Ladin could
have ever imagined in his wildest dreams.
No Americans will be building one.

Don't you realize the forum fossils will be along soon to give you a spanking for your naughtiness.

How dare you criticize The Great War Leader.

Well, I don't know who qualifies as a "forum fossil," but I definitely agree with Rick. Bush has been a disaster and a HUGE disappointment. John McCain should have been president the past eight years.

One thing Bush is not is a "great war leader."

I understand how you feel Rick -- I certainly would not relish being his defence lawyer !
But somehow you voted him in twice collectively which is difficult to forgive .
I have no in depth knowledge of American politics but I guess that privately he was fronted in by very powerful people .
It would not surprise me to find out that privately he was just a quite simple guy , totally sincere and doing his best in a bumbling and blundering way. But out of his depth . And an incredible handicap in a period which has been critical to shaping the future-- perhaps in a way that no other short time period matches .
It pains me to say that the bad smell of George Bush and his leadership failings will haunt your country for a considerable time .

I wonder if Bush still thinks he has God on his side?

Ramblingriver... the reason that Bush was elected twice was because the Democrats actually put up WORSE stiffs than him. They could have put up that chimpanzee that can "speak" through a computer keyboard. They could have put up a lobotomized hamster. They could have put up Brittany Spears. But no... they had to put up Gore and Kerry. It was their own fault that they lost both times... they put up the only two candidates who were actually worse than Bush.

It's a specious argument though I can see that asking one man to change the system ( you ) is probably a teeny weeny bit unfair .
But collectively you got yourselves into the mess and so stop trying to blame it onto Gore ( better than Bush ) and Kerry .
There comes a point where you must face collective responsibility .

Like right now .
To blame the "in " crowd is pathetic .
Western culture is devisive , greedy , selfish .
Of course it is better to con than be conned .
But we are all responsible imho

And God must be wondering what Bush has been thinking!

He better had , because , apart from his Omnipotence , there might only be Barbara remaining .

Quite right. The Republicans and Democrats were responsible by putting up crappy, party hacks and not real leaders. And the rest of America is responsible by not demanding better choices.

What they really need to do is say to hell with all of them in Washington, turn away from the two major parties, and start giving Libertarians, Reformers, Greens and others a chance. Why not? They certainly can't do any worse!!

Or , decent people like us retire to Egypt , for example , and grow Spring Onions and Raddish and send them to Western Supermarkets . Meanwhile , we sunbathe , swim , eat well , drink like fish which we photograph and convince the rest of the world that they need saving by sending small donations to Save- a- Fishee- Wishee . com

Sounds like a plan to me!

Every man hopes his Mummy is on his side.

But I suspect Barbara is just a tad bit miffed with Georgie boy. :)

We really need to wake up in this country and take a look at what
type of people we're electing to "lead" this country. For the last 30
years it's been a disaster IMHO.
We had Nixon, a crook. Then Ford, can't remember anything he did
except fall down a lot. Then Reagan, an over made up ex-actor
that gained fame by talking to chimpanzees in "Bedtime for Bonzo".
Then Bush senior, not too bad. Then Clinton who didn't do much
except get blow jobs in the oval office.
And now the Grand Master of Idiocy, Bush.
Most of the time I don't want to vote for any of these jokers, it
comes down to a lesser of two evils. Who's going to screw up
things the least.
If this is the best that a supposed "great nation" of 300 million can
come up with then there is something seriously wrong with us. And
it's largely our fault, we seem to be in a collective coma.
Something really needs to change here and soon!

It's not only the USA. The UK has been in exactly the same position since New Liabour got into office in 1997.

Hopefully people are getting the kind of wake-up call at the moment which will start to focus minds.

Do you really think that people can decide anything? Sorry for the question....

Yes - but whether it's the right thing or the wrong thing is another question :-)

don't vote for lawyers. Find an honest businessman/woman who knows how to build a company from scratch. Bill Gates? Steve Jobs (name correct?).
