Let us imagine you suddenly come into a massive monetary windfall, enough to retire on.

I know there are many wonderful things we would all do but my question is this.

Would you ever leave your own country to move to another ?

And if you would do this, what country would you move to and why ?

What would your ideal home there be like ?

I'm not sure exactly what country I would go to but yes, I would leave Scotland and go to live somewhere that is always warm and my house would be a villa type with a swimming pool.

I would be gone as soon as the check was deposited.
I would go to either Argentina, New Zealand or Italy.

Funny enough.. like a "collective mind" of GG Mambers.. :becky:
Just several days ago my man and I were discussing this subject. I asked him what would he think if we move somewhere, where no one knows us and we start a completely new life. Africa, Latin America, anything but Europe. He became silent, means, he didn't want to say "no" , neither he wanted to say "yes".

In fact, Jim, it is not "a question", it is many questions all in one.

I would leave (and I already happened to do that, not only one time even) as I adore the scent of adventures.
I could move on a condition I would keep doing my job; being employed is important to me. I think, it can be Africa most likely. Cannot explain clearly, to say the truth.
When I will be old enough to stop working, I would choose Italy, Sicily, perhaps. What I need is sea, a lot of sun and blue sky. And warmth.
The ideal house to me is not a big one, with one bedroom and a living room, and a big bathroom and comfy kitchen. And a terrace where I could sit with a cup of coffee and a pipe watching stars.
But having a man whom I adore and respect much I would not make a decision on my own. I'll be waiting till he'd say "yes" to the move :girl_sigh:

I'd rather stay where I am - plus/minus 200 km, a small village, my own banya (sauna), and a dog.
On the other hand, one of the scientists that I respect so much, told us several days ago that the current changes in the nature reflect the temporary heating before the new cold age, which will be pushing almost all population of the planet closer to the equator. So those who are ready, please move now and reserve a place for the rest of GG to arrive, when the time comes. In this case I will be glad to have a small corner in a small shelter, but the dog is still a must...

I would move to Mexico on the Baja(not cabo)between Los Cabos and La Paz called the East Cape with the sea of Cortez as my backyard and swimming pool. The view of the ocean would include my fishing boat.
