But seriously... it's one thing to make a "borderline" pick and get burned, but it's quite another when a solid pick gets overturned by a big upset. Drat!

On a side note... if our old buddy, Frank, still checks this site out from time to time: Congratulations Brown Raider... it looks as thought there might still be a pulse in the silver and black.

I can't speak for Rick, but for me it's strictly luck. It only takes a few shockers like last Sunday's Raiders-Chargers game to unravel everything.

At this point, when you are competing with others and trying either to stay ahead or catch up, there IS a bit more "gambling" involved. If everyone keeps picking the same games, they win or lose the same amount, so you start looking for strategies to "beat" the other guys.

You might decide to wait a bit, see how others have voted, and then decide which alternative picks you could take that might set you apart - provided your picks work out and theirs fail. But the problem with that is that you become tempted to take chances on weaker picks just to give yourself the opportunity to extend or gain ground.

When trying to catch up, this actually might be a necessary strategy. But when trying to hold your ground, it's best to just go with what feel like the most solid picks each week.

I make all my picks based on what I feel. I don't even look at other's picks until game day.

yes me to I dont even look at the chart to vote, just go with the teams I like, or I think might do good.
Since I am so out of it, dont watch TV, it is just guessing really.
heck only doing it for fun, and support of all any way.
