It sure would be interesting to have Palin interviewed by the presenters of BBC Radio 4's 'Today Programme'
She never seems to answer questions at all but just ducks them by coming up with platitudes about motherhood and apple pie. She'd last about 2 minutes under the kind of forensic dissection she would get here in the UK from the likes of John Humphreys on Today.

Would they do the same with Obama, or would it be a love fest, like on "The View"?

They do it with every politician they can get their hands on ;-)
Tony Bliar was so terrified of them he would never allow them to interview him.

Send them over and let them moderate the debates. That would be fun:becky:

Palin needs to stop holding back and tell it like it is in the debates tonight! Tell the truth and what you really believe instead of trying to please everyone with B.S. like Obama and Mccain. If she doesn't then the debate will be like this:

heAibiOJ5NE
I think she was strongly advised by the republican party not to speak frankly about real issues. Apparently, that isn't how you win an election. The problem is Palin isn't so good at just telling everyone what they want to hear, If only she could spit it out like Obama..
lol Obama says he will give everyone free healthcare, free houses, end war, negotiate peace with terrorists, while cutting taxes, end oil dependency on middle east within 10 yrs, uphold the 2nd amendment and ban guns at the same time, etc.... And people love him for it and believe him!!

You're right I'd forgotten about Paxo. There really would be blood in the water if he interviewed her (or any of the other American candidates). :)

She really is ghastly .
I said at the outset she would soon pall and irritate .
I amend that to --- the biggest political liability I have heard in a long time .

Palin was much better in the debates than in her other interview. But she did not really answer a lot of questions and was bitting around the bush. It looked like as if most of her statements and phrases were well learned. She made me smile on the question about alternative energy...
Biden was just great though.

You really have to marvel at the sheer 'light-weightedness' (is that a real word?) of the candidates on offer to the American people-not just this time around but in past elections too. When you look at the serious issues that face the USA what really strikes me is that watching this election campaign and economic crisis unfold in parallel is like the horror of watching a serious road accident occurring in slow motion. I wouldn't trust any of the numpties on offer to be able to tie their shoe laces unaided.
McCain is probably the very poor best of a very bad lot but he's likely to go tits up before the end of his term given the stresses and strains of the troubles ahead which raises the prospect of....................:der:

Well, beez... this time you hit the nail squarely on the head.
Americans NEVER get a good choice for president anymore. And they rarely get a good choice for a senator or congressman either. By the time the various candidates go through their party's nominating process, the capable leaders are weeded out in favor of the political hacks who can call in the most favors and have the most appeal to the extremes of their parties.
Thus, we got George Bush and candidates like Gore, Kerry and Obama.
In 2000, I thought McCain was the best of the lot, and I was actually enthusiastic about him. But he was screwed by the Republican party, which was pretty much sewn up by the Bush family and their ability to raise money. So a very capable man, McCain, was passed over for a numbnuts who will go down as one of the worst presidents ever.
But Bush was elected because Gore was even worse. I think that if the Democrats had nominated Bill Bradley in 2000, he would have won (I would have voted for him over Bush), and we would be looking at the tail end of the Bradley administration now.
Bush won in 2004 because Kerry was even worse than Gore. I am not sure if Obama is worse than Kerry, but it is awfully, awfully close.
McCain is not the same guy he was eight years ago; his energy is clearly diminished. To be honest, there are a couple of people I would have preferred this time around, but I definitely trust McCain FAR MORE than Obama, who would be an abomination for the country if elected.
Hey... I just came up with a new term: Obamination.

Get over it .
He's your new President -- see Michigan and Florida marginal seat Polls
And Palin is bad Republican news . What will she say of substance when she runs out of prepared "folksy" , "women's" anecdotes ? I am beginning to wonder if she is fairly brainless .

The woman is a freak.
Oh, how I wish she were. The sad truth is that she ought to be.
IMO...The great threat is that she will swing the votes of the (please!)stay-at-home, brainless, incapable-of-stringing-one-thought-together type of American, dismayingly registered to vote, female nincompoop...the type I, in my sweetest moods, refer to most kindly as "Black Holes".
I am not wholly determined as yet to vote for Obama, but I cannot conscience voting for a ticket that includes this woman. Ralph Nader is an idiot and has no chance in any case.
The American political machine utterly rejects intelligence, creativity, and morality (not the kind you might find dispensed in Southern Baptist revival tents), homogenizes the remaining dross, and with unconscienable gall presents the resulting vomitus as "Change".
Again, the sad truth is that it is not.

Fear not! Those people almost overwhelmingly vote Democrat... provided they manage to find enough time away from their sitcoms and "reality" shows.

I thought Palin and Biden both did a good job. The VP debate was much, much better than the presidential debate. I think they were fairly honest and actually got into it a little bit. I actually would like either of them as president better than Mccain or Obama if that is my choices.
Yeah, when they were talking about energy and global warming I smiled too.
I couldn't believe Palin actually had the courage to bring up global warming being cyclical. Your better off printing cartoons of Muhammad then even suggesting that human CO2 production is not causing global warming. Palin needed KentuckyDan on there to back her up.

Yes, we should be. And we were. But thanks in very large part to television (and other things too, of course), we are not.
This is why 15- or 30-second negative attack ads work so well with the voting public. The majority of them are too self-absorbed or too stupid to deal with real information or to make intelligent choices.

No. That's just one of MANY false accusations that got circulated around the Internet after she was chosen by McCain. One of the most galling features of the Internet is that it is largely filled with lies (about pretty much everything).

If true , this could totally derail matters because "where there's smoke , there's Palin "
And it would underline Mc Cains poor judgement and/or inability to have her checked thoroughly .Psychiatric reports etc . ROFL x 100
