View Full Version : Free skype calls over 3G network

Recently I read that skype users could now make free Skype to skype calls over the 3G networks from mobile phones. Up until now, that was only possible through a wifi connection.

I decided to try it, and wow! I was amazed at the quality, and clarity of the calls. Much better than usual calls for sure.


Now I love using skype even more than ever before, but there is a catch. This free method over 3G will only last until december 2010. Skype says that after that there will be a charge for skype over 3G. I don't know if that's such a great idea, and how much the costs will be, but for now, I'll keep enjoying talking to my friends all around the world for free, no matter where I am.

In Ann Summers I was told I was 34 D which i found ridiculous and shopped for 34 C. Anyway, do you think this Skype 3G will still work for me (ebvn though finding 1G took about 33 years?)

just use yahoo, good quality and it's free.

And I can make calls through it while i'm anywhere, via mobile phone, to anywhere in the world???

What I'm talking about is that you can now bypass your mobile carrier plan if you wanna make actual calls without using minutes or paying long distance for international calls. I'm not sure you can do this with Yahoo mobile apps.

hell man, I'm talking about Yahoo Messenger. Quality is excellent, I talk to my cousin in Spain, for instance, 3 times a week

My data plan is the same price every month. It doesnt change, but I understand what you're saying in the case of someone who doesn't have a set rate data plan. I still think it would be much cheaper than making long distance calls through mobile though.

I use skype and ICQ almost every day, and they all work great from pc.

The topic is writed in very plain english. Even I undertood it :becky:

Throw your old dialing phone and buy a new 3G mobile, or better a 4G. You could read Kavkaz center and watch an ABBA video everywhere :lol:
