A study was done several years ago to measure bias in the major news outlets.
All of the broadcast outlets had a liberal or conservative bias, some worse than others.
The only outlet to measure neutral in its coverage was the Drudge Report. (drudgereport.com)

They are not worth talking about;)
They are a far more credible news source than FOX News FFS.
Just because you don't like some of the things they report it doesn't mean they are a bad source. Al-Jazeera is funded by the Emir of Qatar (many of its senior founding personnel were trained by and worked for the BBC).
In case you hadn't noticed the Emir of Qatar is such an implacable enemy of the USA that his country is currently playing host to US Central Command (CENTCOM).

I voted BBC because is the most trustworthy of the list but not the most.
In our 11-M information were very confused about who was the author of the attack.
Government ordered to say was ETA (The separatist basque group) and our National TV and Radio station only could say that, even knowing was not ETA the author.
Only a few spanish and internationals news agencies and TV stations said the truth. After that I only can trust on them.

Wasn't that remark so typical of the garbage we have had to put up with for the last few weeks .
Never a fact . Just silly comments .
Never any reasoning or sourced back up .
It really is totally unproductive for a public Forum and I for one am heartily sick of it .

Just on the contrary! I am sure that the Forum is for comments. We have our Press for getting facts. What new can you or I say? We can only inform each other about those facts we have read, or seen, or heard of. Is it interesting for the Forum? I don't think so. Comments and opinios are interesting, nothing else.
Ramon, your and only your opinion and comments are interesting(for me, at least). You know it. So stop being sick and tired of the Forum. Go on commenting. Pease!

Actually Ramon I would not expect anything different from her. I am willing to bet a seat on Putins Mafia Roundtable that I could take her to each and every world event that she scoffs at and let her see with her own beady little eyes and she would never change her mind. It is just part of the arrogance she posesses with the way that has always been shown to her.
Never having an objective mind to try and figure out right from wrong. Must be hard:confused:

[QUOTE=Neilikka;12379]Just on the contrary! I am sure that the Forum is for comments. We have our Press for getting facts. What new can you or I say?
My criticism did not have you in mind , Bella , my little rose bud !! .Naturally you pay a heavy price as the messenger of Pravda's invariable diet of tripe and onions but I never forget that you are the messenger and not necessarily the advocate .
But I was frankly dismayed and sad at the abysmal standard of comment and discussion in the several recent topics as they related to the spat in S.O. , Abkhazia and Georgia .
I presented a running diet of occurrences , dates and names which were the backbone of my overall view . Later , thanks to Honey , we obtained a copy of the Georgian Government's Time Graph of events and I even spoke to the Georgian Embassy here in London about matters and this specific document .
The charges against the Russian Government were huge and basically the scenario that I obtained was from a variety of sites which backed up the official Georgian view and was totally contradictory to the Russian claims .
Sites which I look at include Kavkazcenter which is brilliant , and , like Al Jazeera , operates to very high standards .Also Debka , Eurasian Daily Monitor , North Caucasus Weekly and even Novayagazeta .
Another invaluable source are the independent Human Rights organisations including Red Cross .
It was abundantly clear that Russians who hated my opinions had absolutely no sources whatsoever , other than internal State organised TV and Press information .
Nobody but a Russian with misplaced patriotism would seriously suggest that these sources are really worth listening to and reading in the first place . They are literally , diabolical and even if the likes of Fox , CNN and BBC were 50% as biased as Russians would like to believe , they are a hundred times more reliable and truthful than any Russian internal news .
So we had a scenario where there was no effective and meaningful discussions and it was interesting because my impression was that Russian young women had suffered from selective word blindness which is a standard symptom of hysteria .
At the end of these Topics I very nearly decided to pull out almost completely because whether my opinions were sound or absolute rubbish , I was not engaging with people who were helping discussion and fact finding in any real way . Frankly ,I would have been better off having a two way chat with myself in the mirror .
Now I propose to base all my future participation with Russians on political Topics with that past history in mind .
That is a pity for me , for others and also in terms of a healthy Public Forum . But that's how I see it .

Well seeing as Churchill was actually 'half'-American it's probably not surprising that he sought an alliance with his 'mother' country!
BTW what does Churchill have to do with a thread about news agencies or is this another case of Americans deciding that when they're on the back foot in a debate then it's best to play the 'we saved ur asses card'?
That'd be right wouldn't it Cletus? But in case you think we owe you something for providing us with much of the kit we used to help liberate Europe (rather than save ourselves) then think again because we've paid it back. What you haven't paid back to us yet is the royalties on all the free technology transfer you got from us between 1940 and 1945.

Finally time has passed , might we wonder if our grand parents made the good choice, asking help to US?

This is humorous but trustworthiness of news sources is in keeping with this topic's subject matter:
The Demographics of American Newspapers:
1. The Wall Street Journal is read by the people who run the country.
2. The Washington Post is read by people who think they run the country.
3. The New York Times is read by people who think they should run the country, and who are very good at crossword puzzles.
4. USA Today is read by people who think they ought to run the country, but don't really understand The New York Times. They do, however, like their statistics shown in pie charts.
5. The Los Angeles Times is read by people who wouldn't mind running the country, if they could find the time, and if they didn't have to leave Southern California to do it.
6. The Boston Globe is read by people whose parents used to run the country and did a poor job of it, thank you very much.
7. The New York Daily News is read by people who aren't too sure who's running the country and don't really care as long as they can get a seat on the train.
8. The New York Post is read by people who don't care who is running the country as long as they do something really scandalous, preferably while intoxicated, and who like their news as pictures and/or cartoons
.
9. The Miami Herald is read by people who are running another country, but need the baseball scores
10. The San Francisco Chronicle is read by people who aren't sure if there is a country or that anyone is running it; but if so, they oppose all that they stand for. There are occasional exceptions if the leaders are handicapped minority feminist atheist dwarfs who also happen to be illegal aliens from any other country or galaxy, provided of course, that they are not Republicans.
11. The National Enquirer is read by people trapped in line at the grocery store.
12. The Seattle Times is read by people who have recently caught a fish and need something in which to wrap it..
