German cult group Rammstein, well-known for such highly intellectual songs like "Bestrafe mich", "Engel", "Heirate mich" or "Asche zu Asche" is declared to be a public enemy by Belarusian president Alexander Lukaschenko.
Rammstein want to give a concert in Minsk on March 7th.

What do you think, is Rammstein really subversive enough to get honoured like that?

Belarus has a budget shortfall due to Gas price arguments with Gazprom HQ
Luka has seen a brilliant way to get his hands on even more money and has done a deal with Rammstein's manager .
Luka's comments should increase record sales at least ten fold .
Which is ironic because they are pure unadultersted crap .

I absolutely don't understand the meaning of Ramstein creation and the interest of their music.
And i absolutely don't understand the position of Belarus to give so much importance to nothing.
We live in a very strange world indeed....

Luka is an old time Commy tyrant in most respects . As in Stalin's era , the State assumes it can direct the Arts and Social thinking . Which is why there basically has never been state sponsored "Art " that is worth a candle .
Ironically he is "right " this time but you must let the Free Market sort out the rubbish from the worthwhile . imo And over time , it always does . Look how Abba has risen to the top !!!

No

No. I don't know german, but i seriously do not believe Rammstein to be political enough for that.

I like Rammstein a lot. Some of their songs are totally brilliant. And i've been to their concert. What a f*cking show.
A-f-u-c-k-i-n-g-masing.

BUT!
When I was a teen I firmly believed that if you a a "fan" of some group, you totally have to love ALL of their songs and never critisize them. Fortunately now i'm old as a mammouth's shit so i can say whatever i want,
And i firmely believe that the latest Rammstein single - Pussy - is nothing but very poor taste and cheap thrill.
But it doesn't cancel out absolutely wondrous songs they used to play before.

p.s. Don't make me post youtubes to prove my point. You really don't wanna do it :becky:
