Kutaisi is not even the capital city, it is Georgia’s second largest city, but has become the site of yet another outrage being perpetrated by MikHEIL Saakashvili. The excuse being given is that a new parliament building is to be built. Saakashvili is fooling no one as he presides over the dismantling of the war monument located there. It is reminiscent of the dismantling of the Bronze Soldier in Estonia not long ago.

Georgia’s opposition parties are protesting against demolition of the military glory war memorial in Kutaisi. The memorial was erected 25 years ago to remember the Georgian residents killed in the Great Patriotic War. Over 700.000 Georgians fought in the Red Army. Some Georgians also fought on the German side in an attempt to secure Georgian independence in the event of a German victory. They are probably some of Saakashvili’s ancestors.

Yes, Saakashvili sees himself as a conqueror, the new Hitler. Yes, Saakashvili will do something, anything just to spite Russia and make Russians angry. Yes, Saakashvili wants to score points with his masters in Washington, London, Brussels and in the Baltic states. But who is he ultimately responsible to?

He is responsible to the Georgian people. This wanton destruction of the memorial is counter to the will of the Georgian people. It is a total insult to all the Georgians who gave their lives in the fight against fascism. It is an insult to all the veterans who fought.

Members of the Christian-Democratic Movement began their action of protest in front of the memorial. They demanded that the authorities “ should stop dismantling the monument without taking into consideration an opinion of the public at large and name those who instructed the demolition.”

There is nothing, no evil, no sin, no injustice, no crime that Saakashvili won’t do in order to please his megalomaniacal ego. His people do not matter to him. However, he is not able to hide this fact from them. This may just be the impetus for a more genuine opposition to step forward and deal with this despot.

The Kutaisi city administration said, “ The memorial was plundered back in the 1990s. Its bronze parts and most of the fragments were stolen, therefore it is impossible to restore the memorial. Moreover, it is located on the territory where Georgia’s parliament building complex will be constructed. ” Yes that’s very believable. I guess they never heard of, “where there’s a will, there’s a way.”

Interestingly, however, the date when the monument is to be completely dismantled, the evil deed done, December 21, just happens to coincide with Saakashvili's birthday and that of Joseph Stalin, someone whose memorial statue still hovers above Georgian soil.

Saakashvili is no different than the other Eastern European countries, former Soviet States such as the Baltics that gravitate to the west. All have the same things in common: their disdain for history, their lack of respect and reverence for those who sacrificed their lives, their fascist tendencies and ideologies.

Hopefully this insult and travesty will be put to an end by the people of Georgia. Too bad Saakashvili cannot be dismantled, beginning with the rocks in his head.

An as yet unidentified woman and her eight-year-old daughter were killed during the botched demolition of a war memorial in the Georgian city of Kutaisi today. Two other residents of the city were injured as well, perhaps more. The incident is being investigated. “According to preliminary information safety measures were not met,” Murtaz Zodelava, the country’s chief prosecutor said and added that the investigation was ongoing.

As could have been expected, one unholy criminal incident begets another. The blame lies nowhere else other than on the shoulders - and the black, filthy soul of MikHEIL Saakashvili, the Georgian president who ordered the demolition against the will of the people of Georgia. It demonstrates the total lack of morals and ethics of the Saakashvili regime, not to mention a total disrespect for Georgians who died in the war.

The Russian Foreign Ministry said the Georgian authorities "have committed an act of state vandalism, offending the feelings of any civilized person." It should also be noted that in the Russian Federation, the remains of Georgians who gave their lives in the war are well cared for and flowers are placed in respect to honour them.

Meanwhiile, Saakashvili was returning from Copenhagen. Perhaps Saakashvili can use his demolition skills for the Taliban as his next job.

A reminder that in Afghanistan recently a 7th Century Buddha statue was irreparably damaged by the Taliban. The historic work of art showed Buddha in a state of meditation and was the sole example of Buddhist cultural heritage. The head and shoulders on the 20 foot statue were damaged. Terrorist Taliban and terrorist Saakashvilil, not a bit of difference between the two.

so, south ossetia and georgia wanted to be free and according to democratic rules population of these countries decided to be free and it doesn't matter that someone in usa or eu doesn't agree with it, people wanted freedom and they got it.

Ответ: Это – другой вопрос. Абхазцы – коренное население. Конечно, и им Советская власть подарила чрезмерно большую территорию. Они могут остаться, но на меньшей, чем сейчас, территории.

Вопрос: А что вы скажете об аджарцах?

Ответ: Никакой автономии. Ведь это тоже был маневр большевиков с целью нас разобщить. Аджарцы – мусульмане, но грузины.

Вопрос: Не хотите ли вы изложить вашу позицию в отношении меньшинств?

Ответ: Она проста: коренное население должно преобладать над другими народностями.

Вопрос: Но ведь идут бои. Какой выход вы предлагаемее?

Ответ: Разоружить банды, арестовать уголовников и восстановить порядок.

Вопрос: Но ведь в Цхинвали гибнут старики и дети. Вы лишили их энерго- и водоснабжения.

Ответ: Знаю, знаю.. Это забастовка. Что я могу поделать? Разве у вас не бастуют?

Вопрос: Да, но при чрезвычайных обстоятельствах правительство может приказать забастовщикам. Не считаете ли вы, что обязаны гарантировать жизнь вашим гражданам?

Ответ: А что мне делать? Арестовать их? Они требуют остановить этих бандитов, а я не могу этого сделать, потому что у меня нет достаточных сил. Это забастовка против меня. У меня только милиция, а бандитов защищает Советская Армия.

Вопрос: Какие у вас отношения с Ельциным?

Ответ: Хорошие. Его эмиссары приняли наши доводы.

Вопрос: А с Горбачевым?

Ответ: С ним невозможно вести диалог. Он сказал: я не позволю вам выйти из Союза. Он потребовал вывести нашу милицию и сказал, что мы нарушаем Конституцию. Я ему ответил, что у нас есть своя Конституция, а советскую мы не признаем. Тогда он начал кричать. Я с ним больше не разговариваю.

Вопрос: Сколько времени вам потребуется для достижения полной независимости?

Ответ: Это зависит от Запада, который может заставить Горбачева признать наш выход из СССР.

Вопрос: А если Горбачев решится на вмешательство?

Ответ: Тогда начнется партизанская война, народное сопротивление. Это не война между грузинами и осетинами, а война Москвы против Грузии.

10 ноября 1991 года отвечая на вопросы журналистов и телезрителей в прямом эфире "Москва - Тбилиси", Гамсахурдия - утверждает:

"Цхинвальский регион всегда назывался Внутренней Картли до 1922года. В 1922 г был большевиками изобретен новый термин - Южная Осетия. Южная Осетия - это не географический термин, изобретенный большевиками. Никакой Южной Осетии нет и никогда она не существовала. Такого географического термина нет в природе". Он также ультимативно требует от Председателя Верховного Совета говорить СО ССР вместо Северная Осетия, а так же прекращения признания незаконной "Юго - Осетинской АО и ее обкома". Воображение не покидает президента, когда речь заходит о беженцах - осетинах, преследуемых грузинскими "демократами". "Это эмигранты, а не беженцы" - заявляет он главному редактору программы "Содружество" А. Скрябину. "ХУРХАТАН" №2

You must know that Russia moved in tens of thousands of Russians and handed out Russian Passports to anybody they could find to accept them .
Russia has no great interest in either territory except as staging points from which to access Georgia .
However , when the Evil One is dismissed by the russians and ideally put on trial , I shall develop these areas for tourism along with the Caucasus Supremo --- possibly to be my old friend Sergei Ivanov .
