This departure from Istanbul FC Shakhtar players will never forget. The precious trophy – UEFA Cup – that the team won in a tough struggle, having beaten a German side Werder Bremen, in the hands of its last owners went to Donetsk. Everyone in the airport cheered when the Donetsk team appeared in the hall.
On their way though the crowd of local football aficionados Shakhtar players had to make stops for spontaneous photo-sessions. On of the fans came up to Mircea Lucescu and kissed his hand.

The trophy itself didn’t escape the customs routine. The metal box in which the Cup was transported went through the scanners just like any other piece of luggage.

Onboard of the flight for Donetsk Shakhtar players threw really wild party, chanting songs which included the famous Katusha and Besame mucho. In short, the ever last winners of the UEFA Cup let their emotions out.
