Few days ago they run a new art train named 'Akvarel" (water-colour) in Moscow underground. The train has 35 beautiful high quality reproductions of paintings from The Russian Museum.

Lovely idea.

How do you like Underground in Moscow and St. Petersburg? It's a bit different from London underground :becky:

Beautiful underground pict. Stations are monuments. Not like underground in my city, only usefull, less arty, more cold design. Perhaps the difference in climate.

To say a bit more in my city it's a very recent little one, full automatic, no driver...

Yes, Russian metro is very beautiful :( - each station is a museum and a masterpiece... do not kill me yet, but all this beauty breaks up to 1000 useless pieces, when you need to find a toilet... I vote for less beautiful, but more practical stations, equipped with elevators for elder and disabled and with clean and free toilets for all.
Sorry about that - kick me, if you feel like that... Or even better - make me a Mayor of Moscow!

If you speak about Paris, I quite like your new line. Is it Madeline?

 It is so scaring when you see no driver. You should put a mannequin not to frighten dummy foreigners :becky:

The art train in Moscow subway... and concert of clasical music at Freedom Square Station in Tbilisi, actually it was 2 years ago, in February 18 "A Day of Classical Music" under the European Days of Opera Project when the European opera theaters organized the concert of the band and stringed quartet of Tbilisi Opera and Ballet Theatre in the lower vestibule of the Freedom Square Station.
Clasic is good but why in subway...in the lower vestibule of the Station? I hope the trains were stoped.

The stations in Tbilisi Metro are not so beautiful as in Moscow or St.Petter but I think much better than in Rome, Athens or Amsterdam.

Yestarday I found a beautiful station in Uzbekistan. First I mixed it with a palace, thought it was Taj Mahal inside :becky:

The mayor is a handsome man! This is what we all need from men in power - be handsome, and do not touch anything with your hands!
If I were a mayor of Moscow, I would also bring a lot of women to rule the city. Women are much-much less corrupted and very few steal money...

I think it's dangerous to have so little space between trains.

We have protecting doors on the most crowded stations. Doors open only when a train arrives and stops

Yeah... what I like about our metro, it's very very clean. No urine smell :)
What I don't like about our metro - I would make less decoration but more stations. And so horrible noise, they should use modern technologies to reduce noise

And I liked the photos so much.. that think I should spend a day in Moscow metro to see all stations and to find that art train :-) To be honest I agree on absence of toilets to see all this :)
Pity it's so difficult to find them. I wonder if they exist there at all? Here in Tbilisi metro I doubt they exist.. I think maybe on entrance only as down there on stations I didn't see a possible place for them. During all my life never had to seek them... But here metro is not the same large as in Moscow, person spends half an hour there the most - to go from one end of line to another.

We have our stations re-newed recently, they are clean and nice now.

What about krevedko's bag - they are free to relieve themselves in any green area or near any tree ;) Until they are 3 at least ;)

I think Southamerica. Parque means Park in english. But definitely not Spain. Specially Barcelona with our modern and cold stations style.

That is the best in Barcelona. All old stations are renewed to have elevators and ramps for disabled people or just woman with a baby trolley (Barcelona is one of the most disabled ready cities of the world). Some old stations are even modified to be more spacious and comfortables. New trains faster and wider and also can work without driver but still have to dont scare passengers

But we do not have toilets and impossible to put some art exhibition in the metro. Will be destroyed in just few minutes. :(
