На изготовление скульптуры ушло более 110 килограмм шоколада. Во «вкусном» материале Рафа запечатлен в момент выкрикивания своего легендарного Vamos! Творец оригинального кондитерского изделия Рамон Пратс рассказал, что решил выбрать Надаля для того, чтобы отдать дань теннисисту за его потрясающие результаты на корте.

«Каждый год мы выбираем кого-нибудь, кто заслуживает того, чтобы стать шоколадным памятником», - сказал мастер шоколадного искусства, добавив, что в прошлом году торт был сделан в честь молодого футболиста «Барселоны» Бояна Кркича. Изготовление своеобразной скульптуры в Барселоне - часть традиционного празднования Пасхи, которое проводится уже более ста лет.

Popular Patisserie Prats de Lleida in Spain, has chosen Rafa Nadal as the character for this year’s ‘monumental’ cake done especially for Easter.

The ‘sculpture’ was carved using more than a 110 kilos of chocolate that represent the Wimbledon, Roland Garros, and Australian Open champion in his trademark ‘Vamos!’ stance (used by Rafael when he wins very important points).

Ramón Prats, the artist behind this extravagant cake, explained to EFE in an interview that the reason behind choosing Rafa’s face for the cake was simply because he thought it would be a nice tribute for all the amazing achievements that contributed with getting the number one ranking.

“Each year we choose a personality that we believe deserves our dedication and a special ‘monument’", said Prats after sharing that last year’s cake went to Barça’s player, Bojan Krkic.

This chocolate sculpture is part of a monumental Easter collection that they have been doing for over a 100 years to celebrate the popular Christian holy week.

Some of the other famous people that have had a cake made for them include: Pedro Almodóvar, Ronaldo, Pau Gasol, Fernando Alonso, Albert, Àlex Corretja, amongst others.

The "Mones de Pasqua" is a typical tradition from Catalonia and Valencia in Easter.

Easter Monday godfather (never godmother) gift to his godson / goddaughter the "Mona" (monkey in english :becky:) .

In Catalonia usually is a cake made with chocolate and some famous figure of children like smurfs, disney, ... sometimes in plastic but sometimes made with chocolate too.

Every year, bakers try to get the most impressive. Usually using famous people, places or things. But only are for exhibition and not to sell, unless you can pay it :becky:
