Since I'm new to this discussion -- I am curious to know just how many literate-intelligent people there are on this list?

Who among you are actual scholars, and how many of you just vote 'bumper sticker' & cute phrases?

If you've read 'The Audacity Of Hope' and/or 'The Real McCain' please let me know.

It is my opinion, that a person can not make an intelligent decision without reading & I would appreciate your honest answer to my question.

James you have to understand, people that would read these items may not be here at this time. And then you have people that are from other countries here in this forum that only want to read about the Imperfections of the United States. And then you have the people that still have not mastered the English Language (His name is Zorro). Then you have people that steer clear of Politics. People! I'm no genius, but I don't rely on mental-midgets, bumper sticker slogans, half-baked horse shit artists, and Fox Noise, to get the facts! We can only know the real deal by delving a little deeper than internet postings. That is why we have libraries!

Take for example, the author and thinker -- Christopher Hitchens. They don't come any smarter and more conservative -- but he's backing Obama. Have you ask yourself why 'right wing' (conservatives) like Hitchens, David Brooks, William F. Buckley's son, Nixon's children, Barry Goldwater's family, just to name a few - are supporting Obama? They all have written books, so you can read how they came to their decision to vote for Obama.

Please! Do yourself a favor, and read Obama's book about his hope for America. It's entitled -- "The Audacity Of Hope" -- and since he's gonna' be your next President, I would think you would want to understand exactly where he's coming from. And I'll tell ya' -- if you can read that book and still be against him -- then good for you, because at least you will know exactly why you are against him, and not just against him because you heard it on the internet, became fixated on some bumper sticker slogan, some BS you heard the "slug" Rush Limbaugh or Bill O'Reilly expose, or even because he's not the same color as you. If you read the man's book, and disagree with him, at least you will be able to make an intelligent argument against him.

But for sure I have not read anything pertaining to Omama and never intend to. They say don't judge a book by its cover. The bottom line for the conservatives you are angry at is this.

You believe Obama.

You do not filter what you hear, you just accept it. And you avoid any source of news that would cause you to doubt that he is a messiah for America.

Most of the rest of us have our filters too. And when we hear what ABC, NBC, CBS, CNN and most of the time, FOX do not bother to report that we can read about elsewhere (such as the Drudge Report) we end up hearing both sides of most stories and we do not believe Obama.

By the way, Obama's book about his father was not even written by him, it was written by Ayers. I wonder if he wrote Audacity? And when he, in his own words in 2007, complained that the Warren court did not go far enough to redistribute wealth because they were constrained by the American Constitution, you get an insight into what he will try to do as President.
